Become an Active Member

Tired of sitting on the side lines? Want to dig in? Become an "Active Member" of CPJ. As an active member you will automatically receive the CPJ Newsletter and have the opportunity to organize Public Actions, help plan Prayer Gatherings , work on issues of Justice and Human Dignity , and help develop Education  tools, or serve as a Liaison to a Local Parish .  See a description of these opportunities below. Stay informed, participate in any of our CPJ events and educational opportunities, and share your talents with others dedicated to the causes of peace and justice.  Click on the "Join Us Now!" button below and choose "Become an Active Member" as your level of involvement.  Then specify your areas of interest for involvement.  

Public Action

The public action groups engage in a process of prayer, Scripture, doctrine, discussion and action in order to address the immediate needs of justice in society. The goal of the public action groups is to execute transforming social action within the community. The public action groups are:

Stop the War – Organizes peaceful public actions that work toward bringing about peace in Iraq and toward spreading an understanding of Catholic Social Teaching/Christian Catholic ethics relevant tot he current war in Iraq

Opposition to the Death Penalty in Wisconsin - Organizes effort to defeat the implementation of the death penalty in Wisconsin on the basis of Catholic Social Teaching which underscores the dignity of human life from conception through natural death

Prayer Gatherings

Prayer Group - Plans and carries out a monthly communal prayer service for transformation and true peace in our world.

Justice and Human Dignity

Consistent Ethic of Life – Focuses on issues and actions related to a holistic view of the dignity of life from conception through natural death and is working to find common ground with right to life organizations.

Global Economic Justice – Focuses on issues related to global economic justice such as poverty, sweatshops, immigration, and fair trade through education, legislation and promotion of fair trade products and stores.

Liaison to Local Parish

Parish Liaison - Networks with local parishes as a catalyst promoting Catholic Social Teaching principles, access to education programs and ideas, and CPJ events.
