Upcoming Prayer Services for Peace

May Prayer Service for Peace – Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 7 pm

Prayer Service to Support Milwaukee Iraqi Student Project
We invite you to join Catholics for Peace and Justice and our guests from the Milwaukee Iraqi Student Project to continue to pray for peace in Iraq and Afghanistan and to contribute to the support of the two Iraqi students being served in our area.

The Iraqi Student Project (ISP) is a grass-roots effort that seeks to make undergraduate education possible for qualified Iraqi students who were studying in Iraq, but were unable to continue their education because of the violence. Students in the program continue their education in the US with the intent to acquire the education they need to participate in rebuilding their country.  These students are recommended for study without regard to gender, nationality, religion or ethnicity.  In the United States, ISP works with colleges and universities to secure tuition waivers or full scholarships, and with local communities to build support groups for each student.  The Milwaukee Iraqi Student Project is currently hosting two students with the support of the Casa Maria Catholic Worker House.

Join us on Tuesday, May 4 at 7pm at the Chapel of the Holy Family, Marquette Memorial Union to support this important mission.

Date: Tuesday, May 4 at 7pm
Location :  Chapel of the Holy Family located in the Marquette University Alumni Memorial Union on the south end of the 2nd floor, Milwaukee
